Following is an example of accomplishments realized by using a continuous improvement process of Review, Establish a plan, Act on the plan and Prove results.
The project goal was to convert customer reorder and customer service orders from an analog to a digital production process, while improving service and reducing costs.
Review Process: Assembled a cross-functional team to assess current processes, brain-storm ideas, determine resources needed, and do an ROI on recommended actions.
Establish a Plan: Using MS Project software, created a plan with specific tasks, responsible parties, start dates, milestone dates, list of approvers, due dates and other critical measures.
Act on the Plan: Specific tasks addressed by those responsible to put new processes in place, and actions completed on schedule by holding regular status meetings.
Prove Results: Tools (Excel file with data and charts) implemented to track and report results weekly, showing actual performance vs. goals. Tracked service time and paper waste.
Results:

- Service time reduced from 4 weeks to 3 weeks.
- Manufacturing waste reduced from > 10 % to < 4 %.
